From Academic Probation To The Dean's Honor Roll

Ephesians 2:4-11
4But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. 6And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, 7in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. 8For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9not by works, so that no one can boast. 10For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

When I started back to school last year my GPA was at 2.40. I had always been an average student in high school. My overall GPA was 2.83 in high school. When thinking about going back to college, I was not sure how well I would do this time around. Over the last three semesters I have made only one B. The rest have been all A's. I went from being on academic probation to being on the Dean's Honor Roll. Was it me that accomplished this? By no means! It was Christ in me that did this! He gets all the glory. This has been a picture of how God can do anything if we are willing to let Him. He can make the weak strong. He can empower those that our powerless. He can take a weak student and make him into a strong one. We are often told that things are impossible and there is no possibility that our situation will change. My educational career has taught me that God can do whatever He wants when we are willing to let Him. God has blessed me with a great picture of how His power works through us. It is never too late for God. Just because we are in an "academic probation" season does not mean that it is over. What God wants to show us is that through Him, He can move us into "The Dean's Honor Roll." All we have to do is lay everything at the feet of Jesus. Let Him pick up the pieces and soon a masterpiece will emerge. We are God's masterpiece. He wants to use us as His instruments. Let us remember that God has included us in His story. All we have to do is trust that He can do what we cannot. We can do ALL things THROUGH Him who gives us strength. Not some things. Not most things. Not just the easy things. We can do ALL things THROUGH Him. The way out is THROUGH Him.
